I’ve been trying to write something about Shaquille O’Neal and if he’ll ever get his number retired by a team for the last few hours and it’s just too hard. The new Free Darko book just knocked it out of the park with the section about Shaq and it just makes things seem every more difficult than they should be.
Shaq is a figure that wants to be loved and admired by everybody and rightfully earn a place amongst the legends of the game, but where will that happen? Orlando? I think he ruined that situation when he signed with the Lakers….The Lakers? Well, we all know what happened there. And he wasn’t with the Heat or Suns or Cavs long enough to become a legend. So, will Shaq ever receive this royal treatment?
